These terms govern your use of Career Compass at career-compass.io. By using the service you agree to them. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
What the service is
Career Compass is a career exploration tool. You provide a resume and answer a short interview; we use AI analysis together with third-party job-market data to suggest career directions you may not have considered, backed by real job listings and salary data for your area.
Not professional advice
Suggestions, salary figures, and job listings are provided for informational purposes only. They are not career counseling, financial advice, or legal advice, and they are not a promise that any role, salary, or outcome is available to you. Job listings and salary data come from third parties (currently Adzuna) and may be incomplete, outdated, or inaccurate. Decisions you make based on the service are yours.
Acceptable use
The service is for your personal, non-commercial use. You agree not to scrape or systematically extract content; use bots or automation to access the service; attempt to bypass rate limits, the bot check, or other protective measures; probe or disrupt the service; or upload content that is unlawful or that you have no right to share. We may throttle or block traffic that we reasonably believe is abusive.
Paid features
Some features are one-time purchases, processed by Stripe. The price is shown before you pay, and a purchase unlocks the feature for the session or account it was bought in. If something went wrong with a purchase, email privacy@career-compass.io and we will make it right.
Accounts
Creating an account is optional. You are responsible for maintaining access to the email address or sign-in provider you use. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms. You can delete your account at any time from within the product; deletion is immediate and permanent.
Your content and our service
You retain all rights to your resume and the answers you provide. You grant us a limited license to process them transiently, solely to provide the service, as described in our privacy policy. The service itself — its software, design, and content other than yours — belongs to Career Compass and is protected by intellectual property law.
Disclaimers and limitation of liability
The service is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising out of or relating to the service is limited to the greater of the amounts you paid us in the twelve months before the claim or fifty US dollars ($50). We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of New York, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules.
Changes and contact
